Ways to Renovate Your Home Before Thanksgiving

Nashville Renovation

If you’re planning on hosting Thanksgiving at your home, now is a great time for you to get it in order. You may not be happy if you haven’t gotten around to making those renovations you’ve been thinking about all year. However, there are ways you can still transform your home’s look and function without breaking the bank. A few well-placed decorations, modifications and adjustments can transform your home from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

First, you’ll need to take a careful look around your home. Look for things that seem like they are out of place. Try to assess your every room with new eyes.

Check out the paint on the walls and around the baseboards. If you see signs of peeling, ships or are just not happy with what you see, you still have enough time paint the walls over. You also have time to hire a professional interior painting service if you are not up to the task.

Make sure you furniture is in decent shape. How long has it been since you purchased furniture? If it has been over five years or longer, you may want to make some upgrades before your family starts arriving in town. If you are not quite ready to replace any or all of our furniture, you may be able to benefit from using an upholstery service.

Organize your space. The last thing you want during the holiday is for any of your family members to make remarks about how unorganized your home is. Instead of stuffing things into closets and the attic, take a few moments to actually sort things. Get rid of what you no longer need. Use storage containers and your creativity to put everything else away into a proper place.

Do your floors. It doesn’t matter if you have carpets or hardwood flooring, make sure they look as good as possible. If your carpets are dirty, get them professionally cleaned. If your hardwood floors are scuffed, scratched or damaged in some other way, you may want to consider getting them replaced or resurfaced.

Don’t stress yourself out while getting your home in order for Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Start early, use a critical eye and don’t be afraid to put in a little hard work to get things the way you want. Don’t forget that you can always hire a company to handle any small renovation jobs to save you time.
